Sssshhhhh…

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in so long. Baby boy has taken over my life! I’ve been meaning to post every week but when he’s awake, he needs all my attention. And when he sleeps, it’s like those supermarket trolley dashes where you have 3 minutes to race around and grab as much as you can.

That’s me, but it’s daily chores I’m doing, not grabbing groceries. It’s tough on your own. I miss Dadda.

But back to baby. He’s now 7 and a half months. He started to wave on my Dad’s birthday which was bittersweet as my Dad died 3 years ago. I like to think he had a big part to play in Babba’s arrival. We had been waving at him for months, just getting blank stares. And then on 6 Dec he suddenly waved back at himself in the mirror and my heart nearly melted. Then he waved at me. Then at Nanny. Then at Aunty. Then at Grandma. It’s truly wonderful.

I’ll let you in on a little secret – he discovered his crown jewels two days ago, after his bath. He was flailing about as usual with his hands grabbing at the air until suddenly they grabbed something down below, and tugged. The look on his face was priceless.

Looking forward to our first Christmas with our Miracle Baby. Unfortunately, we still don’t know if Daddy can make it home in time. It’s all up in the air.

Here’s hoping….

This time last year, I was heavily pregnant, full of expectation. This time two years ago, we were so low after losing our first baby. This year will be different. If I had known then what lay ahead I would not have been so depressed, but such is life! Hang in there girls, if you’re still trying. Miracles happen and every day I look at my son in awe.
